A short ride on a wooden water taxi past cargo dhows, and the story of the Creek as Dubai's lifeline.

Spice Souk, Deira

How long is the walk?
The Meeting Point option is listed at about 2 hours of guided walking. The With Hotel Transfers option is about 3 hours including the private drive to and from your hotel. Each of the five stops takes roughly 20 minutes.
Is it really private?
Yes. Only your group walks with your guide. The price is per group, for 1 to 6 guests.
Where do we meet?
At the entrance of Local House Restaurant, 65 Al Fahidi Street, in the Al Fahidi (Bastakiya) Historical Neighbourhood, Bur Dubai. The nearest metro station is Sharaf DG (formerly Al Fahidi). On the transfers option we collect you from your hotel.
What times can we start?
Every hour on the hour from 09:00 to 21:00. In the warmer months a late-afternoon start is more comfortable, and the light on the Creek is beautiful.
Where does it finish?
At the Gold Souk in Deira. Your guide helps you find the nearest metro station or taxi stop. On the transfers option you are driven back to your hotel.
Is it suitable for wheelchairs, strollers and kids?
The tour and its transport are listed as wheelchair and stroller accessible, and infants can sit on a lap. Tell us about your group when you book so the guide can plan the route and pace.
Is the abra ride included?
Yes. The ride across Dubai Creek on a traditional wooden abra is part of the walk, along with local snacks and bottled water.
Any tips for shopping in the souks?
Smile, ask the price first, then make a friendly lower offer. If it is not right, thank them and walk away politely. Bring some cash for small shops, and in the Gold Souk ask about the making charge as well as the gold price. Your guide will help.
What is the cancellation policy?
Bookings made on Viator can be cancelled up to 24 hours before the start for a full refund, under Viator's policy. For bookings made directly on WhatsApp we confirm the terms with you when you book.
